6 Easy Steps to Earn WoW Gold Selling Items to the Opposite Faction

6 Easy Steps to Earn WoW Gold Selling Items to the Opposite Faction

If you have a trusted friend on the Horde or Alliance side, you can take advantage of what’s known as cross faction trading to earn some serious WoW gold. There are certain items that are only available to a single faction; a list of purchasable single faction items can be found here. These are going to be your big money makers, so make note of the locations and stock up on items. Cross faction trading normally takes place in the cross faction auction houses(AHs). There are two locations, one on each main continent. The cross faction AH in Eastern Kingdoms is in Booty Bay; in Kalimdor, it’s in Gadgetzan. While you can make a profit simply selling things to the other faction via the cross faction AH, you’ll make an even greater profit if you can get those items on the other faction’s neutral auction house. A player can’t bid on his own items, so you’ll need someone to assist you. Make sure this is a person you trust and know well enough that they aren’t going to walk off with your gold or items; a fellow guildmate can work in a pinch, but someone you know well is much safer.

First, create a toon on the opposite faction and level that toon high enough to get her to the auction house in Booty Bay. You can easily do this around level 25; you can do it at much lower levels if you are willing to run and resurrect frequently on the way. Make sure you get the flight paths along the way to make transporting goods between Booty Bay and your home city much easier in the future.

Step 1: You’ll need to be able to speak with each other during the transactions to ensure a smooth transfer of goods. You can use the telephone or a voice chat program like Vent or Skype.

Step 2: Arrange a fee for your friend that is reasonable for both of you. Paying your friend to help you out, particularly if you plan to send goods back and forth on a regular basis, will keep him or her from feeling taken advantage of and make them more likely to offer the help when you need it.

Step 3: It’s easiest to have your friend be the seller and you be the buyer on the opposite side. To make your transaction time go quickly, it can be helpful to mail all of your goods and gold to cover listing fees and your friend’s cut ahead of time. Otherwise, you’ll be restricted to trading 6 pets at a time via the trade window, which can take an annoyingly long time. You want to make this as painless for your friend as possible so they are willing to help out again in the future.

Step 4: Have your friend’s selling toon and your buying toon meet at a cross faction location at the same time and you should be logged in to whatever method you are using to speak to one another.

Step 5: Have your friend list batches of your items at a predetermined price. He should tell you as soon as they are listed so your buying toon can buy them immediately. This is particularly important if you are listing them at low prices, so another player doesn’t snatch your goods before you can get them in your bags.

Step 6: Once you’ve completed all transaction, remember to thank your friend then head back to your main city and start listing your opposite faction items on your neutral AH. How to Make WoW Gold with Low Level Crafted Items

How to Make WoW Gold with Low Level Crafted Items

Which crafting profession will make me the most gold? This question is impossible to answer because each server is entirely different. You can get a feel for what sells well on your server by monitoring the auction house (AH) for pricing trends. The easiest way to accomplish this is through the add on, Auctioneer. Auctioneer allows you to do a quick “get all” scan of all items in the AH and retains and calculates that data to show you the historical pricing for any individual item. You can download Auctioneer here . A quick look at the configuration will show you which options you’ll need to track pricing.

Should I have two crafting professions or one gathering and one crafting?

Again, this will depend upon your server. If materials (mats) prices are low, you can have two crafting professions and still make plenty of gold even if you are buying mats in order to craft. If mats prices are high, you’ll most likely want a companion gathering profession for your crafting profession to save on mats costs and to increase your WoW gold profits. Choose herbalism if you plan to have inscription or alchemy as your crafting profession; choose skinning if you plan to be a tailor or leatherworker; and choose mining if you plan to be a jewelcrafter, blacksmith or engineer.

One note particularly about skinning: since both herbalism and mining now grant experience points with the Cataclysm expansion, these two professions have become the new favorites for leveling characters. This leaves a dearth of skinners, which means it could be a profitable gathering profession even if your crafting profession isn’t compatible. Check low level leather prices on the AH to see if you should utilize this profession for earning even more gold in World of Warcraft.

What items should I craft for maximum profit with my crafting profession?

I hate sounding like a broken record, but for some professions this will depend upon the server. Alchemy and inscription in particular, as the needs on servers vary based upon the general style of play (PvP, PvE, RP?) and upon what other crafters are already supplying. Enchanters will also need to figure out what sells best based on the type of server, although you can make a fair amount of gold simply by buying cheap uncommon gear, disenchanting it, and selling the resulting enchanting mats.

However, for the following professions the items listed are almost always going to earn you WoW gold. You won’t get rich off of them (unless you are very patient) but sales should be brisk and you’ll most definitely see some gold profits rolling in.

Jewelcrafting: woven copper ring , heavy silver ring , solid bronze ring

Engineering: aquadynamic fish attractor, scopes (any), mechanical squirrel box

Tailoring: spidersilk boots , woolen boots , double stitched woolen shoulders

Blacksmithing: pearl handled dagger , bronze axe , bronze battle axe

Leatherworking: armor kit (any), toughened leather armor , Hillman’s leather gloves

Note that as you gain levels, you’ll gain more options for crafted items. Every time you learn a new item, check the AH to see if it is profitable for you to craft it. You may luck out and find a completely untapped market and really start bringing the gold in. Good luck!

Make Gold on World of Warcraft WoW

Make Gold on World of Warcraft WoW

It’s no secret that gold is a necessary and important part of WoW but it seems a lot of players just don’t know where to start with making gold. This is a bare bones basic guide on how to make gold in WoW. It will point you in the right direction to make gold, and you can flesh out your gold making abilities through trial and error or by reading more advanced articles on how to make gold in WoW. The first thing you must accept in order to make gold on WoW is that it WILL require your time and effort. Some methods require less time than others, but the only way you will ever make gold on WoW is if you set it as a priority. This means you will need to take time out of your other WoW activities in order to make gold.

The second thing you should understand is that, in general, your ability to make gold will scale with your level. A level 80 WoW toon will have many more opportunities to make gold than a level 20, 30, or even 70 toon. There is one exception to this rule which will be covered later.

This is the slowest way to make gold in WoW. It is also the easiest way, which is why it is what most people do when they need to make gold. If you are power leveling, this will probably be your primary gold making activity as it does not require you to take time away from getting experience in order to make gold. Once you hit max level, I strongly advise you to dump this method to make gold and move on to one of the other two methods.

2. Use Professions to make gold

People often ask about the best profession to make gold on WoW and for toons who are still leveling. It is undoubtedly mining, followed by herbalism, with skinning in third place. The reason being that all three professions (known as “gathering” professions) obtain materials that other professions need, which means you can make a lot of gold selling them.

Once you reach your maximum skill level, you may decide to change professions. Keep in mind that gathering professions will ALWAYS be your number one gold making professions, so a switch in profession will mean a reduction in your ability to make gold. I will cover how to make gold with crafting professions in future articles.

You also have the option to have 3 secondary professions in WoW fishing, cooking, and first aid. You can definitely make gold with fishing and cooking at their max levels. You will not make gold (or not much gold) with first aid, although it can save you gold by being able to craft rather than purchase bandages if you aren’t a healing class.

3. “Play” the Auction House to make gold

This is a way to make gold that any level WoW toon can do assuming you have some gold to start. First of all, you must install the add on, Auctioneer Advanced. It is essential for any WoW toon that wants to make gold in the AH. If you have problems with add ons, disable it when you are doing other activities and enable it when you are at the AH (this will require you to log off and on). You should run an auction scan daily to keep your saved pricing data current. The fastest way to do this is to type “/aadv getall” (without the quotation marks) in the chat window. This will give you a roughly 2 minute scan of all AH items.

You can start to make gold by buying low and selling high. It is best to start with items you are familiar with because some dishonest WoW AH sellers will artificially inflate a price for a few days then drop it down to try and trap new buy low/sell high toons into a bad purchase. You will recognize these bad deals the more familiar you become with the AH.

One method that is very simple to make gold in the AH is to buy full stacks of items and then make smaller stacks and re list with a slightly higher price. For example, you could buy a full stack of cobalt bars for 20 gold (1 gold each bar) and re list them in stacks of 5 for 1.25 gold each (or 6.25 gold per stack), making a profit of roughly 5 gold. You can do this with fish, meat, leather, or herbs as well. This method to make gold works because some people need a small amount and are willing to pay a little more to get just what they need and no more.

There are several advanced methods to make gold in the WoW AH, which I will cover in future articles, so subscribe to my profile on Associated Content to be sure and see them as they publish and get ready to make more gold than you thought possible!
